Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Event Updates – New Mobile Game Confirmed

The Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Event on 12 July 2021 brought a lot of content fans have been waiting for. A new mobile game is on the way! Hiromu Arakawa had revealed earlier that she will be releasing a new manga series as well. As of now, we do not know whether the new manga will be a direct sequel or will be connected with Fullmetal Alchemist. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The legendary manga series by Hiromu Arakawa was serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan and consists of 27 volumes that have sold over 50 million copies worldwide, making it one of the bestselling manga of all time.

Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Event Trailer

With the first anime series titled Fullmetal Alchemist releasing in 2003 with 51 episodes, and the renewed Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood releasing in 2009, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is added as one of the best shows of all time on IMDb with 9.1/10 and 9.2/10 on My Anime List. Mind you, not just anime but the best shows of all time.

Fullmetal Alchemist also released two films, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala and Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos. While both these stories are not present in the manga as such, they have received approval from the fans. At the moment we can only anticipate out of excitement and hype the return of the series.

Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Event Full Livestream

The details of the mobile game have not been revealed yet. The new manga project by Arakawa only has snippets shared with fans but we cannot wait for more details to arrive! Earlier it was speculated that the new manga project may be a continuation of Edward and Alphonse’s story, but there’s very little known as of now. The possibility of a spin-off series is still on the cards.

The character art shared till now suggests another fantasy-inspired show may be on the way. This may not be any of the characters we know till now and all we can do now is anticipate when Arakawa will reveal her project with details.

The 20th Anniversary event is bringing a digital re-release of the manga’s first volume, free streaming of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood episodes 1-3, a special book for Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Event, and a digital release of one-shots by Arakawa!
