UPCOMING VIDEO GAME ADAPTATIONS ON NETFLIX IN 2023

Assassin’s Creed

In October 2020, it was announced that a live-action adaptation of the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise will be produced as part of Ubisoft’s partnership with Netflix. Not much is known about the project, except that Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik from Ubisoft Film will act as executive producers. At one point, Jeb Stuart was serving as the showrunner for the series, but he has since left the project.

RUMOURED GAMING ADAPTATIONS

Video game adaptations are not new in the world of entertainment, but the recent popularity of such adaptations has skyrocketed. The fans of the popular fantasy franchise Devil May Cry were excited to hear the announcement of its animated series in 2018, but there has been limited news on its progress since. Castlevania series creator Adi Shankar is set to develop Devil May Cry as well, with plans to join the Castlevania series in what Shankar calls “the bootleg multiverse”. Despite being listed, Netflix’s involvement in the Final Fantasy XIV TV project by Sony and Hivemind has not been confirmed. In addition to the animated adaptations for Splinter Cell and Cyberpunk, reports suggest there could also be live-action versions in the works. These rumoured adaptations have left fans eagerly awaiting more concrete news and developments.
