Authors of Weekly Shonen Jump are undoubtedly always in the centre of attention. Gege Akutami, mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen is no different. He is famous for weaving stories and churning out cliffhanger events. He is going on a brief hiatus after a long time. It was in June 2021 that he had gone on a month-long health break. But this time the mini-break is for one week only and there is no health scare.
It is normal for a hit Weekly Shonen Jump title to break from publishing every 6 or 7 weeks so that the author can breathe. The editorial team of teh weekly magazine also ensures that famous mangakas like Gege Akutama are not stressed out by giving regular breaks in between.
The latest spoilers and previews of Jujutsu Kaisen for the upcoming issue of Weekly Shonen Jump give hint that manga will be going on a short break.
