Is Castlevania Season 5 or a Castlevania spin off scheduled to release on Netflix?

Will Netflix’s hit anime series Castlevania return with a new pack of episodes or is it the end of an era? People who are crazy about anime, or as they are called, Otakus and Weebs have been spamming social media wondering whether there will be a Castlevania Season 5 or not.

Castlevania has always been a thrilling adventure, from its first set of episodes to the last ones. This dark and violent animated series has been a flagship for Netflix’s original anime content for the past five years and has become a fan favorite for millions of fans globally.

The spark raised after the release of Season 4 in 2021. It set the bar high raised by earlier adventures, particularly in terms of visual effects (VX) and animation, which were superb in each one of the later episodes.

So, the question remains unanswered whether there will be a Castlevania Season 5 and if not, what does the future hold for Netflix’s flagship anime content? We certainly don’t want this to be an end to our favorite anime series.

Is Castlevania Season 5 canceled?

We did not want to break the ice this quick but we have bad news for you.

However, unfortunately, the series’ producers confirmed in April 2021, via Deadline, that season 4 of Castlevania will be the final in the original storyline.

“While Castlevania, based on the classic Konami video game, will be coming to an end, the world it created may live on. I hear Netflix is eyeing a new series set in the same Castlevania universe with an entirely new cast of characters.” – Nellie Andreeva, via Deadline.

Although there is always the possibility that Netflix will reverse its decision and renew Castlevania for another season, this seems exceedingly unlikely given how the series ended in Castlevania Season 4 Episode 10: “It’s Been a Strange Ride.”

Most of the characters got their happy endings and are moving on after the events of seasons 1-4, with Dracula and Lisa even settling down to live a life in solitude after their resurrection.

What is the Castlevania Season 5 or Spin-Off Release Date?

As stated above, there is no possibility of the fifth season of Castlevania or simply put, Castlevania Season 5, as of now. There might be an addition to the series in the future but that’s not likely to happen any sooner.

However, the good news for fans is that they will see a new addition to the series with a spin-off sequel called, Castlevania: Nocturne! It is a spin-off sequel to the main series that introduces a new cast of characters set in the Castlevania universe.

This spin-off series will revolve around the story of Richter Belmont and Maria Renard during the French Revolution. According to Netflix Geeked, Richter is the “great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great-grandson” of our original protagonists, Trevor and Sypha.
