In a thrilling announcement, Demon Slayer’s Return just got 10x better. Demon Slayer Season 2 Mugen Train Arc will be released in Fall 2021 in a separate release from the much-awaited Entertainment District Arc that is the star of Demon Slayer Season 2.

The Fuji TV broadcast of the Mugen Train film ended with an announcement reel on Saturday with exciting announcements about the returning Demon Slayer Season 2.

Demon Slayer Movie: Mugen Train has an IMDb rating of 8.4/10 and 8.7/10 on My Anime List. Fans should note that Demon Slayer Season 2 is coming in December 2021 and will be taking the manga ahead from the Entertainment District arc. The movie is a bridge between Demon Slayer Season 1 and 2 and therefore it is highly recommended that you watch the movie before going ahead with Demon Slayer Season 2.

Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train covers the Mugen Train Arc, the seventh of the manga which takes place right after Season 1 ends. The plot for the movie revolves around our beloved group of demon slayers: Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. Emmu, a demon, is the antagonist of the movie. She plans to kill Tanjiro to rise to a High Rank in the Twelve Kizuki.

Tanjiro takes on a mission to kill the demon who was responsible for many people disappearing on the train. Instead, the group falls prey to Emmu’s powers drifting to sleep as she attempts to destroy their spiritual cores.

Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train was released only in Japan in 2020. The Coronavirus Pandemic definitely led to delays in release in other regions. Fans were greeted with good news on 16th March 2021 that Demon Slayer Movie: Mugen Train will also be available on digital platforms in 2021.

Demon Slayer Season 2: What Is Timeline?

For those confused, Demon Slayer Season 2 was slated for a Fall 2021 release and it was announced that the returning season would not count as a split cour. Initially, the Entertainment District Arc was supposed to return as Season 2, with the Mugen train arc of the manga already being covered by the movie.

In light of the new announcements, Demon Slayer Season 2 will begin with the anime adaptation of the Mugen Train Arc along with additional content. Following the end of Demon Slayer Season 2 Mugen Train Arc, Demon Slayer Season 2 Entertainment District Arc will begin in December 2021.

Dates to be kept in mind with new developments!

On October 10, the movie adaptation of Mugen Train Arc with an original episode will be released. It will associate the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc with the Entertainment District Arc.

It will be on December 5, 2021, that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 will premiere with its Entertainment District Arc.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc English Dub will stream on Funimation and Crunchyroll from Sunday, October 10. Both the platforms are available in the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. For European countries, streaming services Wakanim and Hulu can be accessed on October 10 itself.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Mugen Train Arc will mostly follow the same storyline as the movie itself. The first episode of the anime will contain content we have not seen yet! The Mugen Train Arc adapts the seventh volume of the manga, to which the movie has stuck. Demon Slayer Season 2 Mugen Train Arc will span 7 episodes but with many surprises!

The Fire Hashira Rengoku is aboard the infinity train along with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke. Episode 2 and further carry the story like the movie but with 70 new animation cuts! The Mugen Train Movie was visually stunning in itself. The additional bonus makes the Season even better!

The key question is if any part of Demon Slayer Season 2 Mugen Train Arc will differ from the movie. Everyone knows the heartbreaking ending of the movie. It remains to be seen if the anime will remain the same or if there is a possibility of any change.

The first 7 episodes of Demon Slayer Season 2 will cover the Mugen Train Arc and end on 21st November. It will cover “an original episode, 70 new scenes, new music tracks, new open and ending animation, episode previews, and new theme songs.”

Also, the original episode will portray “Kyojuro Rengoku taking on a new mission on the way to the Mugen Train.”

LiSA will be singing for the OP theme “Akeboshi” (Morning Star) and EP “Shirogane” (Silver) for Demon Slayer Season 2 Mugen Train Arc. The OP and EP for the Entertainment District Arc are titled “Zankyō Sanka” (Song of Reverberation) and “Asa ga Kuru” (Daybreak) and are performed by Aimer. The first episode of Demon Slayer Season 2 Entertainment District Arc will be of one-hour duration.

It was in 2019 the first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc premiered. It is based on Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga and is considered to be the best anime of 2019.

Funimation has taken up the mantle of streaming the upcoming season of the anime yet again. Much like the previous season and the movie, the anime will be available in both Japanese and English Audio.

Aniplex America had licensed the anime in 2019 and streamed it on platforms like Hulu, Crunchyroll and Funimation. Season 1 of Demon Slayer is also available on Netflix! It remains to be seen if Season 2 will also be added. The likelihood of this is quite high. Netflix too offers both English Sub and Dub for the anime.
