When will Edens Zero Season 2 release on Netflix? Get ready for Shiki, Rebecca, and Happy’s next adventure in 2023

Edens Zero fame, Hiro Mashima has resumed with publishing new EDENS ZERO sketches. Fortuntaely there is good news regarding the animated adaptation of the sequel Edens Zero Season 2. The Season 1 is considered to be the best anime on Netflix and now has been renewed for a sequel arriving in 2023.

The news has been confirmed on the official Twitter handle and Edens Zero website. A key visual is also revealed with the trio of protagonists, Shiki Granbell, Rebecca Bluegarden and the mascot Happy. One can also make out their companions including Pino Sister Ivry and Homura.

Edens Zero Season 1 consisted of 25 episodes divided into two cour streamed by Netflix. It was produced by JC Staff, who is expected to continue work with Shinji Ishihara to direct EDENS ZERO Season 2. As per the announcement, EDENS ZERO 2 will see the light in 2023, two years after its debut.

Hiro Mashima wrapped up the Fairy Tail manga in 2017 and subsequently released Edens Zero which began publication in 2018. Serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, there are 15 volumes of the manga that are currently published, Fairy Tail had a five-year run that ended in 2016 and exited with a huge fan base.

That said, fans were of the idea that Mashima will be writing a series that would continue Fairy Tail as a spin-off or a sequel/ Edens Zero departs from those ideas in building a space fantasy with new characters but a common thread – A cat named Happy!

The plot of the series revolves around a Shiki Granbell and his voyage aboard a spaceship in search of the Cosmic Goddess, ‘Mother’. In the Sakura Cosmos on the planet of Granbell, Shiki comes across Rebecca Bluegarden a mechanical cat named Happy. With his inherited ship called Eden Zero, the three set out on a voyage to search for the Mother. The series has a rating of 7/10 on IMDb and 7.1/10 on My Anime List.

Which chapters of Eden’s Zero manga will Season 2 adapt?

Eden’s Zero Season 1 adapted the first 8 volumes of manga. This is out of a total 22 published manga volumes till 17th August. 14 more volumes of manga are left to be covered, it can be expected that it will be a split cour. Eden’s Zero Season 2 is likely to be renewed for 25 episodes.

Eden’s Zero Season 2 of the anime will adapt the manga series starting from chapter 69 covering the story arc Belial Gore begins. The EDENS- Shiki, Rebecca, and Happy will be seen venturing on a space journey to the Sakura Cosmos where they will be chased by Drakken Joe’s fortress, the Belial Gore.

This saga continues up to Chapter 99 of the Eden’s Zero manga, so Eden’s Zero 2 will also include another narrative arc, the subsequent Edens One Arc.

Is there Edens Zero Season 2 release date?

The Eden’s Zero anime is produced by Studio J.C and aired in Spring 2021 with 13 episodes. The anime from the author of Fairy Tail and produced by JC Staff broadcasted its Eden’s Zero Season 1 Episode 1 in Japan from 11 April 2021. The last episode of Season 1 aired on June 27 2021 but there’s a catch. The first season of Eden’s Zero is a split cour release. A split cour essentially means that the season will be divided into parts with 10-13 episodes in each part. The official end of the Season with Episode 25 is set for September 2021 in Japan.

Netflix announced the premiere date for its global audience to be 26 August 2021. Hiro Mashima’s EDENS ZERO anime got added to its catalog.

As of now, there is no official confirmation on Edens Zero Season 2 release date except that it is coming in the year 2023. But a recently released Edens Zero Season 2 trailer reveals release window.

Edens Zero Season 2 release date will be in the month of April 2023 with confirmation of JC Staff studio that was already in charge of animating Edens Zero Season 1.

As for the possibility of renewal, it is speculated that the manga has a total of 22 published tankonbon volumes out of which the anime has adapted 8 volumes so far. Edens Zero Season 3 can be thought of coming up too after Season 2 since sufficient material is available. It will now depend on how much popular Season gets
