Is Golden Kamuy Manga Finished? Naah! Its Entering Final Arc in July 2021

The Golden Kamuy Manga is set to enter its final arc on July 29th! The manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Nada falls into the genres of adventure and historical settings. It also consists of elements of a Western. The manga was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump Magazine in 2014. The manga currently has 26 tankonbon volumes and also has an anime adaptation.

The Golden Kamuy manga will begin its final arc in the 35th issue of Shueisha’s Young Jump on July 29th 2021. The announcement of the series entering its final arc was made in May 2021.

Golden Kamuy Manga Plot

Viz Media holds the license for the English version of the Golden Kamuy Manga and has added a synopsis for the story:

In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.

Golden Kamuy Anime

Golden Kamuy also received an anime adaptation, the first season of which aired in April 2018. The second season premiered soon after in October 2018. The third season of the anime aired after a two-year gap in October 2020. Crunchyroll streams the English Subversion while Funimation takes up the English Dub!

The thrilling series will be coming to an end but the anime has a long way to go. The ongoing arc of the manga is titled the Hakodate Arc. Chapter 285 will be released on July 29th! The anime is rated 7.84/10 on My Anime List. While Viz does not seem to have the digital version of the manga, the physical volumes are available for purchase. Volume 23 is available for pre-order!
