Free! The Final Stroke is set for release in 2021! The anime series has been a fan favourite since 2014 and will be returning soon for a final season. The series is loosely based on the light novel series High Speed! by Koji Oji which was published in 2013 that slowly piqued the interest of Kyoto Animation Studio or KyoAni. The anime adaptation was picked up by KyoAni and released as Free! Iwatobi Swim Club as the title of Season 1.
Season 2 was titled Free! Eternal Summer and released with 13 episodes plus an OVA release. Season 3 was released after a gap of 4 years in 2018. Free! Dive to the future also aired with 12 episodes. Free! The Final Stroke will be the end of the Saga and also perhaps an end to yet another anime of the 2010s.
Free! is the journey of Haruka Nanase, his childhood friend and rival, Rin Matsukoka, and their friends Makoto Tachibana and Nagisa Hazuki, Rei Ryugazaki who are recruited into the swim club of Iwatobi High School. Rin grows to be Haruka’s rival as he competes on Samezuka Academy’s team.
With more friends, allies and rivals, the boys of Iwatobi town grow towards their dream of being professional swimmers. The anime has a rating of 7.6/10 on My Anime List.

Eisaki Kawanami will be directing the Free! The Final Stroke. Japanese Rock Group OLDCODEX will be featuring a new song in the movies.
The final release of Free! will be a split be a two-part film. Unlike the 3 seasons of the anime, the anime series will be concluded with the release of 2.
The first part of Free! The Final Stroke will be releasing on September 19, 2021, in Japanese theatres. The Fall 2021 releases have a spectacular addition to the list now! Part 2 of the anime will release in the Spring 2022 slate. The new teaser is for Free! The Final Stroke has announced a release date for April 22nd 2022.
Free! is streaming on Netflix and well Crunchyroll with all the seasons of the anime series available on-demand!
