Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Stone Ocean Confirms December 2021 Release! New Cast, Plot, Teaser and More!

Soon after the official announcement of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean has been confirmed for a 2021 release! Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure will be returning for Part 6 after the highly successful instalment ‘Golden Wind’ starring Giorno Giovanna.  The fifth instalment of the anime series, Golden Wind is rated 8.6/10 on My Anime List!

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is a manga series written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. The manga originally began in 1987! It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump till 2004, with the end of Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean. The manga then moved to Ultra Jump for Part 7: Steel Ball Run and Part 8: Jojolion. The latter recently came to an end.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure begins in 19th century Britain with Jonathan Joetar and his adoptive step-brother Dio. Naturally, Dio turns out to be evil and steals the mysterious stone mask of the Joestar family that turns him into a kind of immortal vampire. The generations of Jojos that come after him are all tied together by the Joestar legacy of fighting against Dio or some kind of evil and of course, the Joestar birthmark – The Star.

The Seasons of Jojos Bizarre adventures in order are Phantom Blood (Jonathan Joestar), Battle Tendency (Joseph Josetar), Stardust Crusaders (Jotaro Kujo), Diamond is Unbreakable (Josuke Higashikata), Golden Wind (Giorno Giovanna), Stone Ocean (Joelyn Kujo), Steel Ball Run (Johnny Joestar) and finally Jojolion (Higashikata Josuke).

Needless to say, the anticipation for Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean is out of the roof! David Productions is returning to animate the series. The official trailer for the release was dropped on August 8th along with the visual, cast and so much more!

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean is set to premiere on Netflix has been given an official synopsis by the platform:

Florida, U.S.A, 2011 After an accident while on a drive with her sweetheart, Jolyne Cujoh falls into a trap and is sentenced to fifteen years. She is sent to the state-run maximum-security correctional facility Green Dolphin Street Prison—AKA “the Aquarium.” On the verge of despair, she receives a pendant from her father that causes a mysterious power to awaken inside of her.

“There are things in this world that are more terrifying than death, and what’s happening in this prison is definitely one of them.” A message from a mysterious boy who appears before Jolyne, inexplicable events that occur one after another, the horrifying truth told to her by her father when he comes to visit, and the name DIO… Will Jolyne ultimately be set free from this stone ocean they call a prison? The final battle to end century-long fateful confrontations between the Joestar family and DIO begins!

The return of Dio is always inevitable. The Joestars are yet again supposed to face off with Dio’s Evil and if it wasn’t evident enough, her father is Jotaro Kujo, seen before in Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable. The trailer also has the awakening of Jolyne’s Stand: Stone Free. The action adrenaline elements of Jojo never fail to impress!

Jotaro comes to free her from her imprisonment, but there are other sinister powers at play. The curse on the Joestars is still alive.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean is set for a December 2021 Premiere. Netflix will be streaming the anime series but has not yet announced a specific release date. Netflix has instead confirmed that Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will stream monthly.

Unlike the other seasons of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki will be streamed instead of broadcast on different TV networks. There will therefore be no television transmission in Japan at the time of release. It will be only after a month, in January 2022, will the episodes begin to be broadcast on Japanese broadcasters Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS11.

As for the number of episodes and opening and ending theme, much remains to be seen. Considering the length of Part 6, one can hope for 30 or 40 episodes approximately. In other words, one can expect Netflix to add in blocks of 5 or 10 or so for a few months. 

Netflix has only announced the release and the synopsis as of now. The subtitles are also likely to be created by Netflix. The English Dub of the anime remains to be in the news. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime releases are usually a single release of episodes and are usually not cours. Hopefully, Stone Ocean will also not be split.

The initial reveal only announced Jolyne’s Voice actor. The subsequent announcements on Sunday revealed the rest of the main cast for the show:

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: First look at Stone Ocean’s Nendoroids

Ahead of the series debut on Netflix, Good Smile Company has announced the first Nendoroid. It is an artwork with the possibility of the product reaching you somewhere close to the release date in December.
