Among the most anticipated manga adaptations, Mato Seihei no Slave has finally gotten an official confirmation for an anime adaptation. The announcement for the anime adaptation came in last week and we’re here for it. Mato Seihei no Slave has been a part of Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ publication in 2019. The series was created by Takahiro and currently has 8 tankonbon volumes!
Takahiro and Tetsuya Tashiro, the duo behind the series have Akame ga Kill! to their name, further raising expectations from this anime release. The anime adaptation for Mato Seihei no Slave (Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops) is under Seven Arcs, the studio that has also worked on Blue Period and Arte. The manga series has a rating of 7.5/10 on My Anime List!

What is Mato Seihei no Slave?
This action fantasy series is set in a world where demonic gates called ‘Mato’ spawn all over Japan along with a strange new resource called peaches that gives magical abilities only to women. The demonic gates also unleashed monsters called Yomotsu Shuuki that wreak havoc on the land they tread. The terror of these monsters keeps escalating till the government decides to form anti-demon corps to combat them.
These anti-demon corps consist only of women who have evolved after being granted powerful abilities from the Peaches. Kyoka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Anti-Demon Corps unit rescues a high-school student after he ends up at the entrance of a Mato gate. She realizes his efficiency in making her Peach powers more enhanced and offers him a position in the corps to essentially be his slave. As bizarre as the offer stands, Yuuki Wakura accepts her proposal and begins a rather strange series of events.
The anime has only released its key visual and a preview of the manga snippets along with the animation announcements till now. With the anime adaption of the manga just being announced in November 2021, Winter 2022 season will see more details about the anime.
When is Mato Seihei no Slave Releasing?
There is no release date announced for the upcoming release yet but it is expected that the adaptation will air at some point in 2022. Based on the speculations currently floating around, the anime should make the Fall 2022 release at the earliest.
As for the number of episodes, this anime could be a single cour release with 10-13 episodes in one anime season. Based on the source material, a second cour could follow soon after. Official confirmations on the release window and date, the opening and ending themes and the number of episodes will be following soon!
Mato Seihei no Slave will get a TV release in Japan like most other series but platforms like Crunchyroll/ Funimation and Netflix are yet to make announcements about streaming the anime or simulcasts. If the anime comes to Crunchyroll, there is a likelihood of an English Dub for Mato Seihei no Slave as well.
