For all who grew up through the late 90s and 2000s, Digimon was a household name. The Digimon anime franchise began with the show titled ‘Digimon Adventures’ aired in 1999 and successfully popularized the franchise further.
Digimon or Digital Monster was originally created as a virtual pet that could connect and fight with other digimons. The franchise slowly evolved with an animated series, films, and video games spanning across many genres including RPGs and MMORPGs.
Digimon Anime Series
The new anime series revelation has been titled Digimon Ghost Game and will have a new series of characters and digital monsters. Anime Intelligence and Research revealed the news of the upcoming two projects and will be aired sometime in 2021! The three new characters that will be introduced were starred on the newly released poster.
The exact date for release for the new Digimon anime has not been announced yet but rest assured, we will be seeing Bandai Namco bring back Digimon in 2021 in some shape or form.

Digimon 02 Movie Trailer
The new Digimon Movie will be based on the second season of the Digimon Anime Series: Digimon Adventures that aired in 1999. The movie will feature the much loved Digimon Trainer Daisuke from Season 2 who will be seen in talks with another trainer who does not have a partner Digimon.
With not many details out in the public, the trailer of the movie suggests that the cast of Season 2 will be the lead in the upcoming story. Daisuke only played a minor role in the follow-up release which continued Digimon Adventure.
What About Digimon Survive?
From the same franchise, Digimon Survive, the much-anticipated video game recently announced yet another push in the schedule, forcing the release to be moved to 2022. This has left fans disappointed and in waiting to receive some good news about the release of this game which has now been delayed by over 2 years.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s Website has a page dedicated to the game and contains the following description:
‘Digimon Survive sees a brand-new group of teenagers, led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip, finding them transported to a strange new world of monsters and danger.
As they fight their way back home through an animated world of difficult decisions and deadly battles, players’ choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies and the final ending. Battles in the game are fought in 2D, in a more classic SRPG style.‘
