Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 2 Official Announcement Out! Plot, Trailer, Cast and More!

The anime adaptation of the light novel series is coming back as Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 2! Friday saw a teaser trailer drop with the announcement of anime’s return and we’re here for it.

The series began as a Japanese light novel by Yuri Kitayama began in 2014 and ended its run in 2020. Manga adaptations of the series have been released online and currently exist as 10 tankonbon volumes. The light novel and manga are licensed by J-Novel Club for its English Release. The first season of the anime was a Summer 2021 release and ended as a single cour release from July to September.

About Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles

Yet another isekai adventure, Seirei Gensouki-Spirit Chronicles takes on the journey of Haruto Amakawa who meets his end in an unfortunate accident before meeting a long lost friend. In a different world that looks like some version of earth, Rio, a young boy in the Bertram Kingdom is fused with Haruto, who is reincarnated into this world. Haruto and Rio share their memories and mind and release that things won’t be smooth sailing.

Even with their fusion, Rio struggles with living in the Kingdom where his mother was murdered. After acquiring special powers, things get messy when he encounters the princesses of Bertram Kingdom in a rather picky situation.

What is the Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 2 plot?

The first season of the anime ended with 12 episodes. The comparison with the light novel volumes suggests that that the adaptation roughly took up till volume 5. Seirei Gensouk: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 is expected to take up where the first season is left. Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 1 leaves at the perfect place where Rio or Haruto meets his childhood friend Miharu in this new world. This is the fourth major arc of the story.

The reunion arc is expected to continue in Season 2, followed by the envisioned future arc where Rio expands his party and continues his journey with more challenges piling up.

When will Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 2 release online?

The teaser trailer of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 has been released but has only confirmed the return of the series. Season 2 of the anime is yet to get a release date. The first season had 12 episodes with a run time of 18-20 minutes. It aired on TV Tokyo BS Fuji and AT-X in Japan and Crunchyroll streamed the series in other regions. TMS Entertainment produced the first season and is likely to return for the upcoming release as well.

A release slate for Seirei Gensouki-Spirit Chronicles Season 2 has not been specified but we have a few speculations. The coming season is also likely to be a single cour release. With the announcement coming in Fall 2021, the upcoming season is unlikely before Summer 2022. The likely window of release at this point seems to be Summer 2022- Fall 2022.

Osamu Yamasaki was the director of the first season at TMS Entertainment that collaborated with Wao World. Mitsutaka Hirota, Megumu Sasano, and Yoshiko Nakamura and Osamu Yamasaka worked on the scripts and Kyoko Yufu was in-charge of character design.
