What is Shinobi no Ittoki About?

Shinobi no Ittoki is an action series that centres on ancient ninja clans locked in a clash for power. Ittoki Sakuraba is a young high school student who learns that he is to be the heir to the Iga Clan. With his fate tied to a lineage of ninjas, Ittoki soon realizes the constant threat to his life when the lethal attacks on him begin and his fate as the 19th heir of the Iga Clan weighs down on him.

Ittoki feels conflicted when the ways of the ninja appear to him as senseless violence but the shadow of the clan seems to follow him everywhere. His choice lies between the life of the ninja clans or assured death. The Kouga Clan and the Iga clan go head to head but not in the kind of ancient ways that Ittoki would imagine. The war of the clans has also led to the evolution of their technology, making them far more formidable than just their traditional ways would suggest. Ittoki and his clan accept the battle for survival and put their odds to the test.

When Will Shinobi no Ittoki be Released?

The anime series has confirmed October 2022 for its release and will add details in the upcoming months. The Fall 2022 anime calendar has started forming with many more interesting titles expected to release.

Since the anime is an original animation series written by the two collaborating studios, there is no source manga for the anime to follow. This implies that pacing and adaptation will not be a major concern. Since the better part of the information on the process of production is not available at the moment, it is best to anticipate a clearer timeline in the second half of the year. The key visual for the anime has been released and stars Ittoki, Kosetsu and Tokisada.

How many episodes will Shinobi no Ittoki have?

Shinobi no Ittoki has not confirmed the number of episodes for its first release. The anime could either have a single cour release with 12-14 episodes or extend up to 22 to 25 episodes.

Where Can I Watch Shinobi no Ittoki?

Shinobi no Ittoki has not announced any platforms for streaming like Crunchyroll, Hulu or Netflix. The details on a TV broadcast in Japan are usually made a month before the anime is expected to release. An original anime series also means that the chances of being on streaming platforms other than Crunchyroll are also high. However, neither Netflix nor Hulu has announced anything yet. Netflix also has its own anime production line which means that any collaboration would be announced in advance.

FAQs – Shinobi no Ittoki Edition

Q. Will Shinobi no Ittoki release on Netflix?

A. The upcoming anime series has been listed as an original anime production and has not announced any release platforms for its Fall 2022 debut yet. Netflix has its own anime production division that has recently released anime like Vampire in the Garden and will also be credited for the upcoming reboot of Spriggan. It is unlikely that Shinobi no Ittoki will also be a part of the Netflix catalogue as any collaboration would have been mentioned in the first announcement itself.

It is still certain that the anime will get a platform release but details on the same will only be released in the Summer 2022 anime season.

Q. What about Shinobi no Ittoki manga?

A. The anime is an original production and therefore does not have an associated manga tied to it. Adaptations often result in pacing issues or fan criticisms of not doing justice to the manga. These issues will thankfully not appear fo this series. That said, it is possible that the series can get a manga after the anime has been released. Though uncommon, it is not completely off the table.

Q. What genre is Shinobi no Ittoki?

A. There is no official synopsis released for the upcoming anime yet. From what the trailer suggests, Shinobi no Ittoki is an action anime with elements of history and possible science fantasy. The story is also a coming of age tale for Ittoki Sakuraba but is far from a heartwarming slice of life adventure. The premise seems rather gritty with violent overtones and fits in similar to other anime in the same loose group.
