Is Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King release on Netflix delayed?

News is spreading quickly that the much-anticipated anime film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King has been postponed to June 16, 2023, due to challenges faced by the production team during the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie was initially set for a March 31 release date in Japan and on Netflix internationally.

Check out the leak below:

In addition to its release on Netflix worldwide, it looks like it will also have limited roadshow releases in select theaters in certain cities only for brief periods of time, giving viewers both options depending on what suits them best!

What is Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King’s plot?

Based on Yūki Tabata’s manga series Black Clover, the fantasy adventure will feature Asta – an orphan with no magical capabilities who dreams of becoming Wizard King. In order to reach this goal, he must team up with Yuno, his rival but best friend since childhood, Julius Novachrono, also known as “The White Knight,” and others from their kingdom. Together they must battle powerful enemies as they work towards achieving Asta’s dream.

The upcoming movie will feature a new plot line involving Conrad Leto, a previous Wizard King. The trailer revealed that he would wield an impressive sword, leading to the title. It’s likely that we can expect intense battles and powerful spells from our beloved protagonists, Asta and Yuno, as they face these latest challenges head-on.

Who is part of the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King cast?

Yuki Tabata has been announced as the supervisor of the film project, while Toshihiko Seki is voicing Conrad. Furthermore, all major roles, such as Gakuto Kajiwara (Asta), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Yuno), Junichi Suwabe (Yami), and Kana Yuki (Noelle) are being reprised by their respective voice actors, meaning fans should expect some nostalgia along with gripping adventure.

When is the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King Release date?

The movie’s release announcement was made in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #45 of the series taking everyone by surprise. Even though the movie’s release date of 31st January 2023 has been pushed back by almost two years from what was initially planned, fans of this long-awaited movie remain just as enthusiastic about its arrival. For many, the anticipation is even stronger than before, and they look forward to seeing what awaits them when it eventually comes out!

The production company of the Black Clover movie has expressed its gratitude to those still looking forward to its release, and they are currently working hard in order to deliver enjoyable work that can make up for such a long wait.

But why did Black Clover anime itself take such an extended break? In March 2021, after around 270 episodes were broadcasted, the project was put into suspension due mainly to a lack of source material to work with since the anime had quickly caught up to the manga.

The production team is currently focusing its efforts on releasing the film on Friday, 16th June 2023. We hope that after this nearly two-year-long gap, Black Clover: Sword Of The Wizard King will arrive as expected, bringing us action-packed battles and powerful characters facing off against each other once again!

All in all, despite the delay of Black Clover: Sword Of The Wizard King until June 16, 2023, due to production issues, it looks like this opening installment for the movie series will deliver an exciting storyline along with some familiar voices.
