What is the Bubble Anime Movie About?

Bubble is set in a kind of post-disaster Japan wherein a bizarre incident, bubbles rained down from the sky and isolated Tokyo into a ‘bubble of its own if you will. Tokyo then becomes a hub for young people who have lost their families or forsaken them. The city turns into a parkour battleground for people that now compete in teams for dominance in the area.

In one such battle, a popular and rather formidable parkour performer Hibiki ends up in the gravity bending sea after a particularly dangerous play, something he was known for doing until it went wrong. He is saved by a mysterious girl called Uta and then begins a rather unusual adventure.

A mysterious sound that only Uta and Hibiki can hear continues to bug them as they try to find the source and reason behind this. A lot is shrouded in mystery, including Uta herself. Hibiki does not know where she came from and she does not divulge much herself, though it seems they are on the same side. How probable would it be that the bubble rain, Uta and the mysterious sound were connected somehow?
