An announcement about its new project, the Golden Kamuy Live-Action movie has surprised its fans. The franchise has not revealed any information on the trailer, release date or cast except that the movie is in development. The announcement was done on the 18th of April via Shueisha’s Twitter handle and Satoru Noda’s last and 29th Golden Kamuy action manga volume.
The decision to make a live-action movie of ” #ゴールデンカムイ ” is announced in the latest 29th volume of the comics released today !! Details of interest will be delivered in the future! Please look forward to it !!
The most popular manga series for Golden Kamuy is written and illustrated by Satoru Nada and falls into the genres of adventure and history with elements of a Western. The manga was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump Magazine in 2014. The manga has entered into its last 31st tankonbon volume and also has an anime adaptation. The anime is rated 7.84/10 on My Anime List. While Viz does not seem to have the digital version of the manga, the physical volumes are available for purchase.
Golden Kamuy manga is about to end with its 314th chapter on Thursday, April 28 and there are only 2 more chapters to go. The Golden Kamuy manga began its final arc in the 35th issue of Shueisha’s Young Jump on July 29th 2021. To date, Shueisha has published 28 volumes of manga and plans to publish the 30th volume on June 17 and the final 31st tankonbon volume on July 19.
The last two chapters of the 31st volume will be available for free read online on Young Jump online until April 28, 2022.
In the meantime, fans are waiting for Golden Kamuy Season 4 anime scheduled for October 2022.
Apart from news of a Golden Kamuy Live-Action movie, there is a couple of more manga series that is in development. One Piece Live Action movie on Netflix is expected to release sometime in Fall 2022.
