After a short break in the production schedule of studios due to the earthquake in Japan, the Orient anime Season 1 came to an end. Shortly after the finale, the announcement of the sequel to Orient Season 1 was announced. Orient Season 2 aka “Awajishima Fierce Fighting Edition” is scheduled for release in the summer of 2022. Also came the announcement of the lifting of the ban on 5 cast members.

Orient is a manga series written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka of Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic fame. It was originally serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Jump which continued from 2018 to 2021. It was then moved to Bessatsu Shonen Magazine and has 14 completed tankonbon volumes. Orient anime adaptation for the series has finally been confirmed in the 36 and 37th issues of Shonen Jump!
The manga for Orient is rated 6.8/10 on My Anime List. Kodansha has licensed the English release of the manga and has also announced plans for physical print!
Orient Season 2 Trailer
After almost a couple of months of no activity, there is news on Orient Season 2. Produced by the ACTG studio, a promotional video “Uesugi Bushidan PV” was released for the fans. Orient Season 2 trailer shows for the first time the fighters of the gang headed by Tatsuomi Uesugi. A third main visual of “Awajishima Fierce Fighting Edition” was also released showing “Musashi and Michiru”.
Orient Season 2 Release Date
Given the success of Orient Season 1, The Seven Deadly Sins author Nakaba Suzuki’s Orient Season 2 will return in the summer of 2022. Check out the official tweet with the Season 2 titled “Orient: The Battle of Awaji Island “, which will take us through Musashi’s adventures.
Where can I watch Orient Season 2 English dub?
Crunchyroll has licensed the anime for its 2022 release. The exact release date has not been revealed but one can expect more news flowing in the coming days. All the 12 episodes of Orient Season 1 are streaming on Crunchyroll. It is expected that Orient Season 2 simulcast version will be renewed to stream on Crunchyroll.
Which chapters of Orient Manga will be adapted?
Orient Season 1 anime has covered the Daito Mine Arc, which comes to chapter 42 of the manga. There is sufficient material left to be animated. Shinobu Othaka has published 14 volumes comprising a total of 121 chapters. If Orient Season 2 also covers 12-13 episodes then it could easily reach chapter 80 of manga. The Battle of Awaji Island will fully adapt the Awaji Island Recapture Operation Arc saga that starts from chapter 43 of Orient manga.
