By the end of October 2021, Mangapoke, Kodansha’s Manga Pocket application had tweeted about the TV anime adaptation of Kakeru Kobashiri’s light novel, The Dawn of the Witch, coming in April 2022.
A few months after the announcement of the TV series, here comes The Dawn of the Witch’s release date. The animated version of Kobashiri’s work is set to premiere in Japan on Thursday, 7th April 2022. The series will be broadcast on the Japanese television channel TBS.
The same was confirmed in Kakeru Kobashiri’s The Dawn of the Witch trailer released on the official website yesterday. The trailer also gave a peek into 3 new cast members. The makers also unveiled a new key visual. Check it out below
In the teaser trailer shared, in addition to the premiere date, we also get a peek into some of the characters from Kobashiri’s opera and their original voice actors. New cast members include Yuri Hanamori who enacts weird witch, Masaaki Yano plays the Mercenary and Masaaki Mizunaka gives voice to a blindfolded priest. Studio Tezuka Productions will be taking care of the production of the anime.

The anime is scheduled to drop on the Japanese TBS channel on Thursday, 7th April @1:58 a.m. It will also be broadcast on BS11 from midnight on Sunday, April 10th. April 2022 anime calendar is full of surprises with Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 also coming on 6th April.
The global release has not been revealed yet. But keeping in mind the popularity of manga, one can expect negotiations by major streaming platforms on the way.
The Kobashiri light novel, The Dawn of the Witch manga, illustrated by Takashi Iwasaki debuted in August 2018. The manga adaptation in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine happened in 2019.
After a long-drawn battle between church and witches, the universe of Grimoire of Zero is now at peace. The Dawn of the Witch is set in the same narrative as Zero. However, the embers of war continue to still burn in some parts of the world. Dawn of the Witch plot follows the story of Cervil, who loses his memory under creepy circumstances.
