Spring 2022 is raking up good releases and Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3 is yet another addition to that good list. The anime is returning for its third season after the release of its second season in June 2020. The light novel series is created by Miya Kazuki and Yu Shiina that was acquired by TO Books in 2015. There are currently 27 volumes of the light novels series along with a manga adaptation for the same.

What is Ascendance of a Bookworm About?
Ascendence Of a Bookworm is an isekai fantasy that follows Urano Mototsu, a college student who dies before being able to fulfil her dream of being a librarian comes true. In her final moments, she wishes to be able to read forever and is thus reborn into another world. As isekai fantasies go, Urano is reborn as Myne, a feeble-bodied five-year-old girl.
She retains all her memories from her previous life and realizes that this is a world with magic and knowledge. The catch is that the nobility and commoners are demarcated very distinctly, with the grey robes for the commoners and blue robes for the nobles. The books that old the knowledge of this world is available only to the elite.
Myne soon realizes that she has a mana disorder and finds a way to gain the favour of the Church who require mana for their relics. With her excess of mana, she manages to attain the blue robes and thus access to the entire library of books! But as she becomes involved in the politics of the world, she realizes that her goals will be hindered by convoluted powers at play. She plans to meet the challenges while trying to become the best librarian there ever.

There are currently 26 episodes of the anime released over two seasons along with 2 OVA episodes. Since the series has a light novel series, a webs novel and a manga adaptation, the corresponding adaptation points will differ. The series has been divided into 5 parts based on the story arcs.
