The new promotional video released reveals a new premiere date along with cast, music and more! Date A Live is a sci-fi romantic comedy that began as a light novel series written and illustrated by Koshi Tachibana and Tsunako.
The light novel series for the title has finished its run! It was serialized from 2011 to 2020 along with five manga adaptations that were intermittently released between 2012 and 2014. The anime adaptation has been under different Studios with the upcoming season being produced by Geek Toys.

Date A Live Season 4 aka Date A Live IV has got a release window slated for April as part of the Spring 2022 anime schedule. The makers revealed to teh anime world via an action-packed trailer. Though a concrete release date has not been confirmed, one can check out the latest Date A Live Season 4 Trailer.
One can make out the new opening theme, “OveR” by Miuy Tomita. The makers have also confirmed that the ending theme will be titled “S.O.S.” with a performance from Sweet ARMS.
Also, expect surprise announcements on March 19, 2022, to commemorate Date A Live anime TV series 10th Anniversary.
What is Date A Live Season 4 About?
Everything begins when the Eurasian Continent Is devastated in a sudden series of quakes that wreak havoc untamed. This phenomenon called ‘spatial quake’ kills millions and continues to disrupt the lives of people for the next 30 years as smaller versions of it continue happening. In the present, Shido Itsuka, a regular high-school student comes across a mysterious girl at the site of a spatial quake.
He learns that his adopted sister is one of the reasons for the spatial quakes that occur when beings called Spirits manifest themselves into the real world. He learns that not only is his sister a Spirit but also girls from his class are a part of an Anti-Spirit taskforce against the organization named Ratatoskr.
Itsuka realizes that he has the power to seal them and gets recruited by an organization. The peculiar bit is that to be able to sell them, he needs to make them fall in love with him. The fate of the world has come to depend on his ability to charm these girls and keep their threat at bay.
What will be Date A Live Season 4 plot?
The adaptation problem for Date A Live continues to present itself in the anime series. The previous season did some serious cramming reducing a lot of material from the volumes into rather short episodes and jumping across volumes for the season.
Season 3 of Date A Live rushed through the Itsuka Disaster Arc which is something Season 4 will have to begin with to continue the story arcs for some important characters to appear. The Spirit Nia Honjou will be appearing as one of the main challenges to Itsuka in the upcoming season. In brief, Nia is wound up in the world of 2D fictional characters having lost her faith in humanity. It boils down to Itsuka finding a way to reach her and gain her affection to be able to solve the crisis that faces him.
With a couple of major characters missing from the anime till now, it is a bit iffy how the anime will pace itself and introduce storylines. With consistent changes in studios and relentless cramming, Date A Live does not seem to be getting the adaptation it deserves.

When Will Date A Live Season 4 Release?
Date A Live Season 4 has confirmed a Spring 2022 release! The anime is set to premiere in April 2022 after being delayed from October 2021 due to unnamed reasons. The announcement for the new season had originally come in 2020 but it was pushed significantly. The number of Date A Live Season 4 Episodes have not been confirmed yet but it would be fair to assume that the season like most before would span a single cour with 12-14 episodes.
