Do You Remember Into The Spider-Verse? Here’s A Recap!

For those needing a refresher or those just stepping into the Spider-Verse, here’s a recap on Into The Spider-Verse. The animated feature stars, Miles Morales, a regular student who copes with the pressures of prep school and the expectations of his father, a diligent cop who feels Spider-Man is a good deal of trouble. Miles’ uncle offers him fun time-off during which he gets bitten by a radioactive spider and in true Spider-Man fashion, acquires abilities like Spider-Man.

On his way back, he stumbles upon Kingpin’s Supercollider that he aims to use to revive his deceased wife Vanessa and his son. For those unfamiliar, Kingpin is another name for the famous Marvel supervillain, Wilson Fisk, best remembered from Marvel’s Daredevil. An obnoxious accident with the collider leads to the eventual death of Spider-Man, Miles flees the scene where Kingpin and Prowler stand.

At Spider-Man’s grave, he meets Peter B. Parker, a worn-out version of this world’s Spider-Man, who comes from an alternate world. Miles soon meets more versions of Spider-Man, including Gwen Stacy, Spider-Woman from another world. Post the final showdown, Kingpin and his minions are arrested and Gwen discovers a way to move across dimensions and meet Miles. In what seems to be yet another warm moment, in the end, Miles and his father manage to better their relationship as well.
