Summer Anime 2022 calendar will soon be giving way to the Fall anime lineup. We will be bidding goodbye to fan-favorite series like Classroom of the Elite, and Lycoris Recoil to make way for the Fall Anime 2022 calendar that will be the most gripping in years to come.

We will have strong contenders for the top spot including those of the caliber of Chainsaw Man, the return of Bleach, Mob Psycho 100, and Spy x Family Part 2. This sounds simply insane. Many of these will stream on Crunchyroll as well as Netflix.

But let’s first spend our current month in finding out all the anime arriving and leaving Netflix in September 2022.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Part 2

Netflix has confirmed the global premiere date of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean episodes 13 to 24. The complicated story of Jolyne Kujo will be part of Netflix anime lineup on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 returned after the highly successful installment ‘Golden Wind’ starring Giorno Giovanna in 2018. The fifth installment of the anime series, Golden Wind is rated 8.6/10 on My Anime List!

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is a manga series written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. The manga originally began in 1987 and was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump till 2004, with the end of Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean. The manga then moved to Ultra Jump for Part 7: Steel Ball Run and Part 8: Jojolion which came to an end in 2021

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure begins in 19th century Britain with Jonathan Joetar and his adoptive step-brother Dio. Naturally, Dio turns out to be evil and steals the mysterious stone mask of the Joestar family that turning him into a kind of immortal vampire. The generations of Jojos that come after him are all tied together by the Joestar legacy of fighting against Dio or some form of evil and of course, the Joestar birthmark – The Star.

Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Netflix anime has managed to add one of the masterpieces Shonen to its catalog with Hunter x Hunter, the 2011 version produced by Madhouse. It is rated 9/10 on My Anime List!

Hunter x Hunter follows Gon Freecss and his friends that exist in a world where licensed hunters take on dangerous tasks and missions in exchange for rewards. Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio qualify for Hunter’s license test to fulfill their dreams. The world of Hunter x Hunter has an excellent power system called Nen. Ren, Zetsu, Ten, and Hatsu are the main components of Nen that hunters must master to become true hunters.

Additionally, every Hunter has their own Nen Type which put them in categories – Enhancer, Manipulator, Transmuter, Conjurer, Emitter, and Specialist. Gon and the other hunters encounter dangers that threaten the order of the world and also take challenges for sport. Gon shares his dream of being a hunter like his father Ging, who left him with Gon’s aunt when he was an infant. Gon aims to find his father and prove to him that he’s become an excellent hunter.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners

As per the updates on IMDb, “filming” of Cyberpunk Edgerunners commenced on 7th April 2021 and concluded by 10th September 2021. Being an animated series, dubbing in different languages and other animation effects are in progress.

As the story is based in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, this series does not have a manga or a comic book source. CD Projekt RED released Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020 as an open-world role-playing game, the only major game released by the developers after the Witcher franchise.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is going to be a standalone animated series that will be explored in Night City itself. A young kid in the Night City who does not have anything but himself tries to survive on the streets. To survive in the brutal playground that is Night City, he becomes the one known as Cyberpunk, a mercenary outlaw.

Bastard!! Heavy Metal Part 2

Bastard is set in a dark fantasy world with sorcery and swords and all the aspects of a gritty and brutal world. The Kingdom of Metallicana is threatened by the Four Lords of Havoc. Ninja Master Gara, Kall-Su, the thunder empress Nei Arshes and the dark priest Abigail.

As it so happens, the high priest of the Kingdom of Metallica sees no other way but to awaken a legendary wizard from his slumber to try to protect the Kingdom from this invasion. The High Priest asks his daughter Tia Noto Yoko to wake Dark Schnieder, one of the Havoc Riders who was allied with the villains that presently threaten the kingdom. The Havoc Riders were formidable and feared across the lands in their years of conquest.

Dark Schneider’s plan was to rule all the lands and have all the women in the world. 15 years prior to these times, he had a massive army of warriors and wizards at his disposal. Now, he is reawakened in the body of 14-year-old Luche Renren and tasked with the protection of the four kingdoms that house the seals that keep the God of Destruction at bay.

Bastard!! is returning after over a decade and fans are surprised in the best possible way. Reddit threads expressed absolutely no hope of this series returning despite the manga being wildly popular. Now that the any is being remade, there may be more series like this and Urusai Yatsura that will be brought to present fans.

Drifting Home Movie

Drifting Home or Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi will be a Netflix anime original but will also be released in the theatres in Japan on the same day. Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event made the announcement for Studio Colorido’s 3rd official full-length anime film in 2021. The movie has already been added to the My Anime List Catalogue!

Drifting Home is an adventure fantasy tale built around the nostalgia of childhood. Two young boys, Kousuke and Natsume enter 6th grade and find themselves drifting away from each other. Their reconciliation also seems far away with the amount of awkwardness that now surrounds their relationship. During their summer break, they visit a housing complex that is set for demolition soon.

Having grown up there, Kousuke and Natsume are overcome by a lot of emotions about their once happy living space. In the middle of playing, a strange phenomenon occurs. They somehow drift out of consciousness and when they come around, the building that was supposed to be demolished appears to be surrounded by the ocean. Now stuck in the middle of nowhere, Kousuke, Natsume, and their other friends try to get back home in a house that drifts on the ocean.

Drifting Home anime will be released in Japanese theatres as well as on Netflix on September 16th, 2022.

Pokemon: The Arceus Chronicles

The animated series for the franchise aired from 1998 to 1999 before coming to Cartoon Network in 2001 successfully popularised the franchise further. The 2019 release Pokémon Journeys is rated 7.2/10 on My Anime List!

The Pokémon franchise has a series of TV anime, movies, and game releases. The latest addition to the Pokémon games was Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl which was released in 2021. A surprise announcement came in last week with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet being scheduled for a 2022 release. Earlier this year, Pokémon Legends Arceus was launched.

With a rating of 7.81/0 on IMDb, From Me To You Seasons 1 and 2, one of the best romantic genre anime is also getting added to the catalog of Netflix anime in September 2022. From Me To You is a pleasant watch though it is a bit slow on romance.
